Gantry Mount LED Light

Here we have my Gantry mounted LED light strip. I designed this for my Ender 3 but it should fit onto any 2020 or 2040 extrusion seamlessly. I merged my 'shade' design with the beefy hinge design, resulting in a good solid mounting point that will not budge. You'll need to print one bracket and one shade for each installation - two pieces that fit together snugly with some friction but the long bolt provides a hinge point and just that little extra squeeze. The hinge can be moved freely, but it won't droop on its own. Two orientations are provided for the shade, one with the USB opening on the left and one on the right - otherwise they're identical designs. Please see post-print notes for some assembly details that might come in handy. I built this design around these LED strips specifically (other strips would work but may require tweaks). Here's why I chose them: - A perfect size: 200 mm long by 15 mm wide rigid PCB. - Extremely bright and cool white light, ideal for this application. - Cheap to buy and can be used in other projects as well. - Dual row staggered pattern LED's provide uniform brightness all around. - They work on 5 volts (USB powered) with a built-in micro USB connection. - They come with sticky back foam strips attached - useful in some cases, but not here. At the moment my LEDs are powered from a "USB power bar hub". I plan to tie them into my 5-volt supply that's currently powering the raspberry pi. That way the lights will turn on automatically when the printer is turned on.
