<p>Ganesha, represented as a cowherd with short legs and a stick is common in the Kasargod region of Karnataka, India. The form alludes to the mythical story where Ganesha as a cowherd tricks the demon king Ravana into parting with his precious Atma Linga. Ganesha’s quick thinking prevents Ravana from becoming even more powerful by possessing the Atma Linga. A representation of god Shiva. </p><p>This form of Ganesha can be found in Gokarna Mahabaleshwar Temple. Within the temple is a granite figure.
