GameCube Face Button Remix
thingiverse
The original design for the Gamecube buttons contained inaccuracies compared to the authentic ones. When I attempted to utilize them in my Gamecube controller, they failed to provide the precise feel when pressed. To rectify this issue, I decided to modify the small plus attached to the button and incorporate custom supports to avoid using entire-button supports. The custom support was designed with a 0.06mm layer height in mind and has yet to be tested. I will update my findings once my test is complete, providing results compared to the original design. This initial iteration focuses on the A button, but if all goes smoothly, I may proceed to add the remaining buttons. The file size is significantly smaller than the original. UPDATE: The A-button printed flawlessly and emulates the original feel perfectly, although a minor problem arose with the original file due to an excessively long center pole, which has since been corrected. Concurrently, I have recreated the other three main buttons and successfully tested the B-button; further tests on the remaining two are forthcoming. If any issues arise, please do not hesitate to notify me.
