Gameboy Cartridge
thingiverse
I got a hold of a copy of Pokemon Blue from a friend that had been mauled by a dog. The game still worked, but when I inserted the cartridge into my Gameboy, it made crunchy noises. On Thingiverse, I stumbled upon powertomato's design - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:13605. I printed it out, but during the sanding process, some of the parts broke off. Furthermore, I thought the top shell was too flimsy. After that, I came across DomesticHacks' design at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:107841, but it lacked a mounting hole and had incomplete grips on its sides. So I pulled out my calipers and measured up some cartridges I had lying around. I then 3D modeled and printed a replacement case. I've got several versions of the file available. Here are the files: Gameboy-cart-bottom-v2.stl - This is the bottom part of the cartridge. Top (variations depending on detail required): gameboy-cart-top-v2.stl - This one has no grips or indents and is the easiest to print. gameboy-cart-top-v3-logo.stl - This design features label indents and grips with my logo. gameboy-cart-top-v3-nologo.stl - This version has label indents and grips without my logo. gameboy-cart-top-v3-nologo-topindent.stl - This one is the most detailed, featuring a grip, indent, label, and arrow without a logo. For the top prints, you might need to flip them over and print with support to get the desired detail. Check out more of my work on my website at printmore3d.com.
