GameBoy Advance SP XL
thingiverse
Designing a portable game system around a 4.2-inch LCD screen, the type used with aftermarket backup cameras for cars. Scaling everything up roughly around 41.976% to fit the larger screen. The screen has a resolution of 480 by 272 pixels, just under double that of the original GameBoy Advance. I've built bar-tops and stand-up arcades before, but this is my first time tackling a portable unit. I wasn't thrilled with the look of PSP-style game consoles out there; they seemed too bulky to me. I've always liked the form factor of the GameBoy Advance SP, similar to a laptop, so I decided to give it a try. ---Parts used:--- * Raspberry Pi Zero W * 4.2-inch LCD Screen (composite video, 5-volt modification, 480 x 272 resolution) * Cheap SNES Controller innards * 4-Port USB Hub connectors ripped off * Large 3.7-Volt LiPo battery * LiPo charger and 5-Volt boost converter taken from a cell phone battery charger
