Gameboy Advance Case
thingiverse
This is stylized after a vintage case that came with Gameboy Advance gummies from a bygone era. Those little cases were truly adorable! When I was young, I tried to keep one as a storage container, but I lost it during a move when my family relocated homes. The standalone case now sells for $10 on Ebay, a significantly cheaper option than 3D printing, although I wanted to customize. UPDATE 9.20.19 - Everything has been resized to be much smaller and closer to the original GBA gummies case dimensions. I've also included a lid for the back of the front half to cover up the screen edges. UPDATE 10.4.19 - It's finally printed! Shout-outs go to Onyx FDM, the company that printed this project. The fit is great, although I realized the back ridge was unnecessary, so it's been removed. Other changes include scaling the front screen cover for a better fit. The holes I was worried about resulted in faint impressions from the D-pad circle and inlets surrounding the start/select buttons. I'm guessing this is due to inner geometry when creating the holes initially. UPDATE 10.12.19 - I had the screen parts printed and decided to make the front part slightly taller. The updated file has been uploaded, and once I've finished gluing and sanding everything down, I'll share the finishing process and showcase pictures of all the printed parts. UPDATE 10.16.19 - The back screen file has been made slightly wider. Post-printing details have been posted below regarding dimensions. UPDATE 10.23.19 - The front screen file has been made slightly taller. Some additional details have been added regarding dimensions below. UPDATE 11.6.19 - A STL file with the front parts assembled together has been uploaded for your reference.
