Alliances and betrayals are appropriate in this game.Preparation6 fortress tiles.Each player has 6 crownsEach player has 6 Hand of the King pinsFortresses can be redistributed in the same way as the Game of Thrones map (optional)Fortresses can only have red numbersRobber or a pirate is not used in this gameAdditional RulesOwning a fortress:You can own a fortress by placing a crown on itWhen the number on the fortress is rolled, the owner of the fortress also receives a resource, representing a taxThe fortress represents an additional point for the ownerThe fortress is also a trading center and a 2:1 harbor with the resource it representsThe Desert fortress has no number or resource and represents a 2:1 exchange of any two identical resource cardsYou can buy and place a place settlement directly at the edge of your fortress hex if there is any space (2 edge between settlements rule). It does not have to be connected to any route. Occupying a fortressWhen you place the first house, you simultaneously occupy a fortress by placing one crown on one fortressWhen you roll a 7 or play knight from development deck, instead of using a robber, you attack a fortress or upgrade your fortressIf a fortress is unoccupied, you can take it without a fightAn attack on an occupied fortress involves playing 3 rounds of rock-paper-scissors with the defenderIf the attacker wins at least one of the three games, they can take the fortress, and the defender must remove their crown. The winning attacker also receives one resource card that is represented by the fortress from the bank.Both showing the same symbol = tie also counts as one of three rounds attacker has. This gives an attacker a 70% probability (1 - (2/3)^3) of winning. The defender keeps their fortress if they successfully defend against all 3 rock-paper-scissors attacks (winning or tying)Protection of your fortressWhen you roll a 7 or play knight from a development deck, you can decide to fortify your own fortress instead of attacking another player.You fortify your fortress, by choosing a hand of the king from your opponents and placing an opponent's Hand of the King figure on the crown of your fortress.When attacking a fortified fortress, you play rock-paper-scissors under the same rulesBut, in the case of a successful attack on a fortified fortress, the defender removes only the Hand of the King figure. The winning attacker can draw 1 card from their hand and receive a resource card represented by the fortress from the bankThe person designated as the Hand of the King can now trade the fortress's resources at a 2:1 ratioOnce per turn, you can change the Hand of the King person and the figureThe Hand of the King cannot attack a fortress where they are the Hand of the KingExtra development card: Monopoly card (only two in a deck) can also be used as a Betrayal card. With this card, you can take over the fortress where you are the Hand of the King. When using this card, you must remove hand of the king figure from this fortress.GeneralFortress tiles are still resource tiles, you can still build around them and get resources.The game is played until 14 pointsThere is still a reward for the largest knight power and longest road in the game
