A grumpy guy and a less grumpy guy show up - it's Arin and Dan! Simple shapes get messed with due to their general lack of modeling skills. On top of that, they've added lots of subdivision modifiers to make the models look smoother, but the original meshes have way fewer polys. These guys also have 20 materials and textures, like who cares about optimization? Also, I'm just not a fan of UV editing in Blender. For at least 7 years now, I've wanted to animate these characters, so after finally deciding on a 2D animation software, I decided to make them all 3D instead. Mainly used emission shaders to keep the sketch feel. I was thinking about animating the face textures, then realized maybe I could draw facial features over a rendered movie? Not sure what to do - both of those options seem like way too much work.
