Game Boy Advance SP Controller Grip
thingiverse
# Overview This is an ergonomic controller grip for the Game Boy Advance SP. - Accepts both Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games. - Screen can be opened and closed with the grip attached. - Volume and power buttons are easily accessible. - Has mounting tabs that slide onto the grip near the back of the SP to hold the SP in place so it doesn't fall out. - Mounting tabs don't block SP ports. - Grip won't fall over with SP fully extended. # Print Orientation Print the STLs as shown. It's very important that the mounting tabs are printed as shown. If they're printed vertically, they'll shear. # Assembly Take the top half and apply glue to it. Put some glue in the mating block holes as well. Insert the mating blocks and attach the bottom half. The mating blocks help to line up both halves. Wipe up excess glue. If you don't want to glue anything, a full body grip STL is provided. I've never printed the full body version, so I'm not sure how that will turn out. Use supports if you print the full body grip. # Resolution I printed it at a high resolution because the mounting tabs and the track they lock in to need precise tolerances because they're so small. You could probably get away printing the bottom half and mating blocks at a lower resolution, but you should print the mounting tabs and top half at a higher resolution. # Infill 20% - top half, bottom half, mating blocks 100% - mounting tabs
