thingiverse
GambleBox This device is in early development stages, and I've published it to encourage discussion and feedback from others. Once complete, it will be available as a kit for assembly and as a fully assembled product. All components, including printed circuit boards, firmware, etc., will be open-source. I invite comments on ideas to improve the GambleBox The GambleBox offers engaging game modes for LARP events like Airsoft, NERF, and others Description The device can function in different ways depending on the selected game mode. It may act as a bomb or count team captures during capture-the-flag games. Players enter a code to disarm or detonate the bomb using the keypad, while RFID tags serve as flags that can be scanned by the device during CTF games. The 2.4GHz radio enables devices to communicate with one another (tested range approximately 3000ft). This technology also transmits real-time game information to players via a display. The estimated dimensions for the GambleBox are about 19.5" in length and 8" in diameter, featuring a cylindrical shape with a flat bottom covering one-quarter of its height Technical Features RFID Reader: enables scanning of tags, such as those used for scoring during CTF games Keypad: sets game mode, playtime, etc. 3.2" TFT Display: showcases necessary information to players 2.4GHz Radio: allows devices to communicate with one another and transmit game information to players via a display External Connections: adds the capability to integrate user-created content into the device Components used include: - RFID Reader - Keypad - 3.2" TFT Display - Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller (utilizes sufficient I/Os for control of the GambleBox) - Isolated Connectors enable integration of user-developed functions
