I created a remix of my gallon can spout located here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:121655. This design features a swiveling spout that can adjust direction and snap fits securely onto the threaded cap. The curved shape of this spout offers more utility compared to the straight spout, which only provides minimal functionality. Due to varying thread types on different cans and optional use of gaskets or sealing washers, cap orientation can be adjusted, ensuring proper spout alignment. After printing the ABS version, I found a secure and smooth swivel fit. For future prints, using nylon material may suggest some minor redesigns since it's much more flexible than ABS. Currently, this project is ongoing as plans to print in nylon exist, allowing for usage with acetone or volatile chemicals without damage. Since one may be needed later, the ability to convert SAE files into metric-compatible formats exists by scaling up 25.4 times. Photos of my printed version will soon appear; meanwhile, this post likely will disappear after that addition.
