I'm designing a 2-piece wall mount for my son's Galaxy S9 with a slim case. Since our build plate has a strict 120mm limit, I had to split the case into two interlocking pieces. The main purpose of this design is to enable my son to securely place his phone on the wall and watch videos hands-free. With double stick or velcro tape, we can easily mount a charging cable and keep the phone locked in place. However, I'm not entirely satisfied with the current latch clearance. The finger holes are quite small, making it challenging to work with when the mount is installed. To address this issue, I'm considering shortening the prongs and adding knobs to the ends. Considering our 120mm limit, my options for modification are somewhat restricted. Update: Our hidden latch utilizes a semi-cylinder latch mechanism, which isn't intended to provide fall protection for the phone but rather establish a passive connection between the two pieces.
