Galaxy Tab 4 7.0" stand
thingiverse
I adapted Thing 184920, a Galaxy Tab 2 stand, to fit my Galaxy Tab 4 perfectly. I made some necessary modifications by removing speaker ports since the Tab 4 doesn't have any. To accommodate the slim design, I narrowed it down slightly and revised the connector space completely to match the Tab 4's micro-USB port. I designed a custom fit for the included USB cable, carefully crafting seven precise prints to achieve an exact match. Additionally, I tweaked the back of the stand to reduce filament usage, which in turn enabled faster printing. I also fixed some geometrical issues like buried faces and asymmetry to improve its overall structure. Although it functions well, there is one significant issue - the lightweight design makes it difficult to remove the tablet with one hand, as the extraction force exceeds the stand's weight. To address this, I glued it firmly to my desk. The fit is a bit imperfect, so some wiggling may be required to get the tablet in place. The printing process itself is quite straightforward - no supports or fiddling needed, and the large flat surface at the bottom makes it easy to keep on the bed during printing. The most challenging part might be the small bridge under the USB cable passage, as well as some gentle overhangs. Even low-cost printers should be able to handle these minor obstacles without issues.
