Galaxy S9+ /w Defender Tripod mount for quick release and Vivitar QR mount
thingiverse
I needed a way to mount my cellphone to a tripod for a video I had to make, and I wanted it to be landscape instead of portrait. So, I made another case mount. This one has some holes to connect to a quick release on a Vivitar tripod that I got while yard sale treasure hunting for just $3. (That STL is also included.) I'm going to include photos if it works out, or edits if it doesn't. I need to move the side window up about 5mm and cut in another couple mm in the front for better access to the cover flaps on the case. This works, but it's not exactly right. I made it 2mm deeper, moved the window up 3mm, and added a 5mm cutout at the front for better access to the ports. Plus, I removed a notch at the top to make it easier to pull the phone out. I included a photo of it printing, but I'm getting weird striping in my prints on this printer. Not parallel with the layer lines, just slightly diagonal. Any ideas? (I have a Core XY X5S.) I still need to add an E3D MK6 and a better part cooling fan to this printer. Whoops... forgot to update the photo. I used the mount last night to film the first draft of an upcoming Kickstarter video (not 3D printer related), and it worked wonderfully. No further edits are needed for full function, though I'm considering making a mount to attach my Anker battery to the tripod leg... though hanging it from a knob in its bag worked just fine. Please excuse the woodgrain appearance... my X belt on my Core XY was loose, and it gave the copper pla that appearance. Didn't affect the function at all, though.
