Initially intended for motorcycle installation, this charging cradle has undergone rigorous testing on a mounted platform and showcases an incredibly secure ball socket joint, reliably keeping the phone firmly in place. Its design draws inspiration from the tactic's bike mount but offers a unique twist by allowing wireless charging directly through the device's OEM back instead of a dedicated case. With versatility at its core, this innovative cradle also boasts compatibility with my own proprietary 3/4" ball mount system as well as alternative mounting solutions such as 3daybreaker's RAM compatible Look-a-Like mounting kit, merely requiring replacement of the existing ball and any associated hardware. Step-by-Step Instructions for Assembling the DIY Qi Wireless Charging Cradle Firstly, all components are printed at an optimized layer height of 0.2 mm with varying infill percentages tailored to each part's specific needs—40% infill for structural reinforcement in the ball, 20% for the base and holder for a lighter yet sufficient design. Following print completion, secure the 5mm screw through the pre-drilled tap within the ball, carefully ensuring the 5mm nut captures firmly hold both components together before gently inserting the DIY Qi kit into its designated holder, carefully aligning it within the base. Finalizing the cradle's structure and sealing out moisture entails applying a generous application of super glue or executing an efficient vapor welding technique on critical interfaces, achieving superior waterproofing performance for worry-free use.
