Galaxy S5 phone cradle tripod mount 1/4-20
thingiverse
I found myself having to grip my phone firmly to stabilize it for filming with the built-in camera. The handheld setup isn't ideal for capturing dynamic action shots since it can slip slightly due to a loose fit in its cradle, but it does offer decent access to the bottom-mounted button and corner pads. The design focuses on compatibility with vintage tripods featuring a standard 1/4-20 threaded post. To get my phone holder working, I had to expand the screw hole with a drill bit and secure it with a thin, affordable nut available at most hardware stores - a tight fit indeed! Additionally, I made room for a small spring pin that prevents the mount from spinning around, which required drilling another tiny hole. With 20% infill, I only added enough material to support my phone comfortably without exerting excessive strain on the structure. Hopefully, this DIY project will serve as a useful reference for someone looking to replicate it.
