This adjustable tripod mount is a perfect fit for my Galaxy S4, even when it's paired with a protective case. The design is compatible with phones of all shapes and sizes, as long as they're up to 12 mm thick and fall within the 60-87 mm wide range. I took inspiration from this brilliant concept on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:293679), but I decided to take a few liberties with the original design by replacing the rubber band with a more secure thumb screw. To build your own tripod mount, start by printing out the necessary parts in PLA on an Ultimaker 2 at 0.1 mm layer height. Once you've got all the pieces ready, follow these simple steps: First, glue or epoxy a 1/4-20 nut into the base of the tripod mount. This will provide a secure foundation for your phone. Next, insert the screw through the top piece and thread it onto the nut that you just glued into place. Now, add a small amount of glue to the insert before pressing the top piece down firmly onto the base. Be sure to apply gentle pressure to avoid any damage to the surrounding area. As the glue dries, carefully remove the top piece to prevent it from getting stuck in place. When everything is completely dry, thread the parts back together using the screw and enjoy your brand new tripod mount.
