I'm eagerly awaiting my tax return so I can buy an Ultimaker 3D printer. This is my first submission, and I wanted to ensure I could actually create something. So, here's my Samsung Galaxy S3 Dock design, which works with slim cases (about 1mm thick). It's untested, so please review it before printing. If you print one, do share your experience! I won't be able to print mine for a month or two. Included in this design: - Cable plug for a sleek look Requirements: - 3D Printer - Hot Glue Gun - Micro USB Cable (you'll need to keep it attached) Note: Use a good cable, as it will be difficult to replace. - Heavy Book or any weight - Tape - Piece of paper - Fine Grit Sandpaper (wet sanding is best) Build Instructions: 1. Print the object, which should fit most cases with possible adjustments. 2. Optional: Wet sand for a smooth appearance. 3. Feed the cable through the rear hole and out the bottom. 4. Feed the cable through the front hole at the bottom of the stand and connect it to your phone in its case. 5. Ensure the phone is snugly seated in the stand and verify the fit. If it's too tight or loose, adjust now. 6. Cut a piece of paper to match your screen size and place it over the screen. 7. Tape the phone down firmly (using the paper to protect the screen). Ensure the phone is in the desired position. 8. Place the stand on the edge of a table using a book for support. 9. Secure the USB cable at the bottom with hot glue, being careful not to glue the cable itself. 10. Double-check the phone's position; this is your last chance to adjust it. Wait at least 5 minutes for the glue to set. 11. Hold the cable taut so it doesn't dip below the stand base. Apply more hot glue to secure it in place. 12. Allow the glue to harden before installing the cable plug. You may need to sand it down slightly for a tight, non-removable fit.
