Galaxy Quest Communicator

Here's a communication device from Galaxy Quest, inspired by my own creative vision. You have two options available: one is identical in size to the original prop and can be customized with a printed plasma disk on your home laser or ink printer. Simply glue it into place for an authentic look. The other version features a 2.5-inch mini plasma disk that responds to sound, adding an exciting interactive element. The device will activate as soon as you start talking, creating a truly immersive experience. A small micro switch can be inserted into the case to automatically power down when the lid is closed and reactivate when it's opened. Check out this short video for a closer look: https://www.facebook.com/marcin.poblocki/videos/10212388366799694/ You can find the plasma disks on eBay from China - I purchased blue ones, but unfortunately received green by mistake. You'll need two single AAA battery holders to power it up - look for the pictures for a reference. Please note that this project is still a work in progress, as I'm currently developing a locking mechanism to keep the lid shut and a spring-loaded opening mechanism.
