I created this thing with Tinkercad. Edit it online at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/6OiOCxXvEPm. Samsung Note Edge Tripod Mount Case Video https://youtu.be/vV-Guw7IJ_I Photography has been my lifelong passion, and I'm grateful to the internet for connecting me with talented photographers who share their knowledge on platforms like YouTube, Vimeo, and more. Whenever possible, I pay it forward by sharing what I've learned. Recently, I've been live-broadcasting my photoshoots on social media sites such as Facebook and Instagram, but I always faced one major issue - finding a reliable way to keep my phone steady. This project was the perfect solution to that problem. I wanted to create a tripod mount for my phone connected to a flexible metal cable so I could attach it wherever I pleased. The main difficulty I encountered during this process was finding a pre-made 3D model for my Samsung Note Edge. A case would have made the project much easier, requiring only that I find or create a pre-made 1/4-20 tripod thread and group them. Luckily, I found one guy who created a car case, which I remixed, adding my 1/4-20 thread. However, there was still a problem - the case was designed for landscape mode. To solve this issue, I added two threads on each side of the case. My remix also included a charging hole. Unfortunately, I didn't get to print it, but I did print something else. Something much simpler. I found a Nokia and customized it to my needs by reshaping it and adjusting some of the measurements. To make it even more personal, I added my initials on it along with the word "photography." It's a bit cheesy, but I still like it. The print came out well, but unfortunately, I had to make some small changes. The insert piece for my project didn't arrive on time, so I made some searches and, with Charlie's help, found a different 1/4-20 thread from Home Depot. However, the outside of that was a hexagon, while the original shape was a circle and slightly bigger. We melted some plastic with Acetone and filled the interior of the case. And voila! It works. I was eager to make it even more perfect, so I went back to Tinkercad and created another hole with the shape of a hexagon, ensuring that my thread would fit perfectly in my next print. I also created a third version, but unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to print it yet. I truly enjoy this project. Seeing an idea come to life is incredible, and 3D printing is the future. Hopefully, in the near future, technology will be more accessible to everyone.
