Galaxy Note 8 With Otterbox magnetic car mount with wireless charging
thingiverse
If you're using a Scosche mount, check out my remix on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2858770/remixes UPDATE: The initial version I uploaded with a single 8Kg magnet holds better, but it interferes with wireless charging. So, please use the "Post prototype final" version, which uses two 3kg magnets mounted horizontally and works well. You'll need to get these magnets for the more reliable version: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00TACLM5Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Note that PLA isn't ideal for this project if you plan to leave it in a car exposed to sunshine, as it will warp. This is a very useful device for those with the same configuration as me. It allows a Samsung Note 8 with an Otterbox case to be installed in a magnetic car or other mount with a built-in wireless charger, providing a drop-in wireless (FastCharge) charging mount for a car. This version has been through many iterations and works very well. To make this work, you'll need: A charge mount that fits. I've used RAV power one as it's compact: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B074QGFDMM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 A magnet for the back with an 8kg pull, which is solid even in my Elise on cobbles. A lesser one may be sufficient for cars with softer suspension: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00MGU2APK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have this mounted to a Scosche magnetic windscreen mount. The unit has cut-outs for the camera and fingerprint reader, speaker, and microphones.
