Galaxy Note 3 Wireless Charging Stand
thingiverse
The wireless charging feature on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is extremely convenient. You can easily find a wireless charging kit for around 30 dollars at a website like this: http://www.amazon.com/CHOETECH-Wireless-Compatible-Flip-Case-Charging/dp/B00FPFM4AY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426828718&sr=8-1&keywords=galaxy+note+3+wireless+charging Every night, I simply place my phone on the pad, and by morning, it's fully charged. However, to work properly, the small pad must be precisely placed at the center of the large phone. To make wireless charging easier and more efficient, I created this design. The charging pad should slide smoothly into position, allowing you to easily charge your phone with a simple placing motion. It not only simplifies wireless charging but also looks great even without a phone on it! Since Qi is an open wireless charging standard, this product might work on other phones as well. You can simply modify the model to ensure that the charging pad aligns perfectly at the center of your device. For optimal results, I recommend printing with 20-30% infill and a shell thickness of at least 0.8mm. The model has been optimized to use approximately 19.42m of PLA material on a 20% infill setting and a 1mm shell, resulting in a fair amount of saved material. Note that the image model was created using the "3D Builder" from the Win8 app store, which includes text overlays. I have included both STL and DWG files for your convenience. If you encounter any issues opening the DWG file, it may be due to an outdated version of AutoCAD (specifically student edition 2015 or later). For printing purposes, I suggest removing support structures and printing without them if possible, but feel free to experiment with both supported and unsupported printing techniques. My personal preference is for a smooth vertical print job, which turned out great even without supports!
