Galaxy Nexus simple Tripod Mount
thingiverse
Filming a breakthrough documentary on Cholula Hot Sauce is challenging when your camera falls victim to its spicy sauce. However, a smartphone's camera can be a savior. The problem arises when mounting it on a tripod, but worry not! A simple tripod mount for Galaxy Nexus is available, designed to fit cheap tripod setups from years ago. If your tripod requires a hex nut, a modified version with a hole for the nut is also provided. Created specifically for the US Verizon LTE version, the designer is open to creating a version for the International GSM model if dimensions are shared. Solidworks 2012 source files and IGES formats are offered for easy editing. To use it, simply print and attach the mount on the tripod, then slide the phone in thin end first, ensuring the taper points towards the fat end of the phone. An updated version with a chamfered edge to indicate the taper direction is available, along with files suitable for a 1/4-20 hex nut for standard tripod usage.
