Gaggia MDF non-dosing mod

Gaggia MDF non-dosing mod

I was fed up with the dosing mechanism of my Gaggia MDF constantly spilling coffee outside the basket. So, I designed this non-dosing mod to put an end to that issue. First, you'll need to remove the entire doser mechanism and saw away the front part of the grinder. Fortunately, it's made of brittle plastic, which is incredibly easy to cut and file into shape. Next, push the funnel onto the grounds outlet and secure it with a cover. You can choose to glue it in place or drill screw holes for added stability. To ensure smooth coffee flow, apply tape to the bottom of the funnel. This will prevent any obstacles from hindering the process. Unfortunately, I didn't think to document the process with pictures at first. However, I've included the Fusion 360 source file in the attached .zip package for those who want to replicate this mod.
