After just a couple of weeks, the new gasket started to spring leaks as well. The main purpose of this backup ring is to apply additional sealing pressure to prevent water seepage. Made from TPU, it works quite effectively. However, placing the tank onto the machine does require some extra force, which isn't a problem. Scaling up ten times may be necessary, especially if you're using an STL file created in Autodesk Inventor and need to convert centimeters to millimeters. Looking back, this might have solved the leak issue from the very start rather than purchasing an expensive replacement gasket that only lasted a couple of weeks before failing again.
