This custom Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) is based on the Gaged Engineering Design, addressing its weight and cooling issues for enhanced performance. Reducing weight, particularly rotating mass, leads to easier acceleration and deceleration, plus quicker downshifting and faster corner exits. The CVT belt generates significant heat at idle and full speed, especially in muddy Baja environments that limit airflow; thus, this design features venting to improve heat exchange and prolong belt life. Credit goes to Taylor and Will for the original models, while modified components include disks, outer covers, and lightened internal parts.
