GAD's 5-Piece Honeycomb Strat Guitar

GAD's 5-Piece Honeycomb Strat Guitar

I found this small honeycombed Strat body lying around somewhere and I'm really hoping to find out where it came from, so if it belongs to you PLEASE let me know (with proof) so I can give you full credit! These files go hand-in-hand with my article outlining the entire process of printing a guitar. You can check that article here: https://www.gad.net/Blog/2020/04/05/3d-printed-guitar/ I took the original model which wouldn't fit in my printer and broke it down into five pieces so that it would. My printer is an Ultimaker S5, a bit larger than your average home machine, but I encourage you to break it up some more so that it fits in yours! This guitar plays perfectly and my builds work great when plugged into an amp! To finish the guitar, you'll need, aside from the model: Neck & Neck Plate, Tuners, Pickups, Electronics, Pick Guard (if loaded, ignore previous two), Strap Buttons, Hardened Bridge Screws, Neck Screws, and Bridge w/springs, claw, and screws. The original model wasn't designed to be a functioning guitar, so I had to modify it a bit (check out my blog for more info). Some of the pick guard screws still don't line up right, but I just drilled them since they're under little stress. As you can see in the neck plate photo, that's not exactly right either, but it works fine - it's just ugly and you can feel it a bit while playing up on the high frets. The little guitar in the picture is the same model with all axis at 50% and the guard and neck 3D printed at a similar scale. The pickup covers and knobs are from Thingiverse, too. The colors for the different pieces were picked by my daughter!
