G8 Lens Holder
thingiverse
After printing a G8 lens holder by [DOugl](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4636074) I found that the shaft that the lens sat in was a bit too short for my Ortur LM2 20W. Also, I found that it was difficult to thread the lens holder perfectly straight. I remade the lens holder and increased the lens shaft length to 13 mm. In order to thread the lens holder as straight as I could, I also designed a barrel guide that the lens holder will fit in to. To thread the lens holder, I bought this M9 x 0.5 mm Pitch Thread Metric HSS Right Hand Tap from [amazon](https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B083D9J9J4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). The barrel guide worked great for me. I was able to thread the lens holder and the new lens has a snug fit. The only other thing I added (forgot to take a pic) was to add a bit of silicon tape to the G8 lens part that screws in to the laser unit. I'm having trouble finding the type of o-ring that came with my Ortur LM2 20w so I'm just reusing the only 1 I have. The PLA I'm using is from [amazon](https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01EKEMA2M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). So far, the lens holder is sitting firmly in the laser unit. ** it appears that the thumbnail order is not working on thingiverse. The way I had originally lined them up made more sense ** Cheers
