It offers a fully supported USB port while keeping the phone extremely secure. We experienced zero disconnects after switching to this mount. Print all parts, then attach the two small bars across the upper area of the base with super glue. The mount is meant to be attached to the build surface using two button head screws. The top dovetail section at the top should be covered with a small piece of velcro (the soft side) to hold it tight and allow for easy on and off.
