G4 Halogen Bulb Replacement Tool
thingiverse
It can be a real challenge to swap out a G4 halogen bulb, especially when you're advised not to touch the glass with your bare hands. This handy tool comes to the rescue. There are no specific printing requirements for this tool. However, getting the thin walls to look good can be tricky, but in most cases, it's not crucial for its functionality. I've printed mine using PLA on a DaVinci Jr., and it turned out great. Most bulbs have a diameter of about 8 mm, but some are thicker. I've included a "fat" version for those with larger diameters. Since this tool operates at 12 volts, you can leave the power on while fitting the new bulb. However, be quick, as the plastic can't withstand the heat from the bulb for an extended period. To avoid any issues, press the bulb in as soon as you see the first flicker of light and remove the tool immediately.
