G2s Pro E3D V6 Maxmount (Now with BL-touch!)
thingiverse
***HEAR YE HEAR YE***\r\nThe Revision 5 is now available and I highly recommend it over this one.\r\nhttps://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3100908\r\n\r\nI realized none of the existing stock E3D mount options were satisfactory, so I decided to design my own! (And also explore what Fusion 360 can do.)\r\n\r\n**UPDATE 2018-01-24**\r\nA version with M3 nut traps for fans has been added. (See notes for additional information.)\r\n~~**UPDATE 2018-01-16**~~\r\n**UPDATE 2018-03-19**\r\n~~BL-touch mounting version added. (See notes for additional information.)~~\r\nIf you'd like, I can point you towards [MetalHeadz's printable bracket](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2820425).\r\n\r\n**Parts needed:**\r\n- 2x 30mm fans. The E3D fans and the G2s stock "heatsink" fan will work fine.\r\n- - *Note:* The fan mounting holes are designed for the screws that come with the E3D fans. You can get away with using just 2 screws per fan.\r\n- 2x M3x10 bolts for fastening the halves together.\r\n- 3x M3x20 bolts for attaching the mount to the effector.\r\n- 5x M3 nuts for fastening the halves together and to attach the mount to the effector.\r\n- Obviously, an E3D v6-style hotend is required.\r\n\r\n- **For the BL-touch mount version:**\r\n- - *Optional:* BL-touch.\r\n\r\n- **For the M3 fan mount version:**\r\n- - 8x M3 nuts\r\n- - 8x M3x18 bolts.\r\n- - *OR:*\r\n- - 4x M3x18 bolts (for the lower mounting holes)\r\n- - 4x M3x18-25 bolts (for the top mounting holes)\r\n\r\n*Disclaimer:* These are the parts I used, if you know what you're doing, you can use just about anything to mount the hotend and the mount to the effector. (I would advise against using self-tapping screws.)\r\n\r\n- **UPDATE 2018-01-24**\r\nAdded a version with M3 nut traps for installing fans without E3D self-tapping screws.\r\n\r\n- **UPDATE 2018-01-16**:\r\n#SUPERCEDED BY METALHEADZ'S PRINTABLE BRACKET\r\nAdded a version of the intake side to take a BL-touch. Spacing is for normal V6. (As is pretty much the whole mount too...)\r\nWhen the probe is retracted, there should be 1.5mm clearance to the tip of the nozzle.\r\nI haven't tested printing this part, but if you can add supports to only one place, it would be under the "front" BL-mount "arm". Though it wouldn't be the first insane overhang of this model that prints incredibly well...\r\n- The probe offsets are (also shown in pictures):\r\n- - X: -31.3mm\r\n- - Y: -18.1mm\r\n\r\n**TODO:**\r\n- Finish Revision 5 and standardize the layer cooling duct interface.\r\n- A version with tighter fan screw holes so M3 bolts will thread themselves into the part with no need for nuts.\r\n- A Volcano version. Though I designed this for the express purpose of the standard V6 as my Volcanos reside in my CR-10s where they get the most benefit. Leave a comment if you'd like one.\r\n- Probably would be a bit clumsy, but a version that takes 5015 fans too.
