G27 Splitter Shifter for Truck Simulator (Euro / American)

Recently been playing a bit of Euro Truck Sim, and semis always come with a high-performance transmission featuring 12+ speeds and dual sets of splitters for effortless gear shifting in both low-range and high-range modes. Fixing the problem is a breeze; you can easily purchase a replacement knob, wire it up, and have your truck running smoothly in just an afternoon. However, knobs are often pricey and take their sweet time shipping out. Enter 3D printing to save the day! With a print time of under two hours, this mod not only gives you a sleeker shift knob but also those essential splitters. To achieve this, you'll need two compact rocker switches (19x12mm) that will be mounted directly onto your G27 shifter. Don't worry; it's an easy task that requires only a few tools and some basic wiring knowledge. First, you'll need to disassemble the shiftier to access the four lowest red buttons. Simply connect the rocker switches to these buttons using the ground pad and wire them to the line of four resistors that control those buttons. Be sure to use resistors 2 and 4 or 1 and 3, counting from left to right, as using 3 and 4 or 1 and 2 will trigger both buttons simultaneously, causing your truck's hardware override to malfunction. To ensure a snug fit, you may need to trim the rockers slightly. You'll also have to drill a hole in the shift boot surround to feed the new wires through without interfering with shifting. Additionally, you might need to bore out the boot collar to allow the wires to pass through smoothly. Once complete, your shifter will look and feel like it came straight from the factory, complete with a sleek knob featuring two rockers. As this custom shift knob doesn't utilize the OEM set screw on the shifter, I recommend wrapping one or two layers of electrical tape around the shaft after installing the boot. This should provide a snug fit that won't come loose over time. Alternatively, you can use glue if you're confident you won't need to remove it in the future.
