G230 Replacement hinge
thingiverse
Replacement part for G230 Stereo Gaming Headset. The most fragile component is the swivel hinge, which tends to snap sooner or later, as it did in my case. You will need: Soldering tools 4 x M3x10mm screws (Per hinge) 4 x M3 nut (Per hinge) Custom-made hinge printed on a 3D printer How to replace faulty hinges: Disassemble the right speaker (Not all screws are the same, so take note of their locations) Unscrew the right speaker (Note the polarity before disconnecting it) Pull the cable through the headpiece (The cable is most likely glued outside the speaker enclosure, so be careful when removing it) Disassemble the left speaker Replace the hinges with new ones Re-assemble everything in reverse order I printed Top_1 and Bottom_1 using HobbyKing ABS plastic with a 0.075 layer height (0.2 is also suitable) and 40% infill (20% is sufficient, but I opted for more). The print was oriented like the STL files with support material, but the support material was difficult to remove, so I created a revised version without holes for screws and nuts. After printing your own custom hinge, you will need to file the two sides facing each other and the shaft connecting the speaker enclosure to the headpiece. I used M3x12mm screws for the right headphone due to a shortage of M3x10mm screws.
