G230 Replacement hinge
myminifactory
Replacement Part for G230 Stereo Gaming Headset. The weakest link in this headset is the swivel hinge, which tends to break sooner or later - just like it did with mine. You'll need: * Soldering tools * 4 x M3x10mm screws (per hinge) * 4 x M3 nut (per hinge) * Printed hinge To replace the hinges you've bought: 1. Disassemble the right speaker - be aware that not all screws are the same, so take note. 2. Unsolder the right speaker - make sure to note the polarity. 3. Pull the cable through the headpiece - the cable is likely glued outside the speaker enclosure, so be careful when removing it. 4. Disassemble the left speaker 5. Disassemble the hinges and replace them 6. Put everything back together I printed the Top_1 and Bottom_1 with HobbyKing ABS plastic at 0.075 layer height (0.2 is also a good option, but I wanted to see what happens) and 40% infill - 20% would be sufficient, but I want it just right. The print was oriented like the STL files, but the support material was very hard to remove - so I made a second version with no holes for the screw and nut. After you print yours, you'll need to file the two sides that face each other and the shaft connecting speaker enclosure to headpiece. Since I ran out of M3x10mm screws, I used M3x12mm screws for the right headphone.
