G230 Ear Cup retainer replacement
thingiverse
Another friend has broken his G230 bracket, a design flaw that's causing headaches for Logitech. However, you get what you pay for with cheap headsets, and this replacement model is actually an improvement over my old G35 version. It does sacrifice the swivel function, but gains stability by preventing ear cups from falling off. These designs are tailored for M3 screws and their corresponding nuts. This time I've placed the nuts on the outside so you can test them before cutting the screws to size. I ordered 15mm versions, which are half as long, barely sticking out, and my friend left the rest protruding, but be careful not to hurt yourself. After a couple of weeks, my friend noticed that the screws loosened up and the pressure became uneven. To address this issue, I've created a second version with an extended contact area to prevent looseness and fill the gap between ear cups and headbands. This modification may hinder swivel function even more, but it should minimize ear cup detachment.
