G1000 Pan Zoom switch
thingiverse
This is a Pan/Zoom switch for the 3D printed G1000, utilizing a single affordable rotary encoder with 20 positions that work best and four tactile switches to accomplish a difficult-to-find and complex switch. Update April 29, 2020: - I've adjusted "knobshaft.stl" from 25mm to 28mm in length for better clearance. - I've added circuit boards .dxf files for those who want to make their own like I did (optional). Update March 28, 2020: - I've updated the Housing and encoder connector to V3, removing teeth that don't align with encoders and making various changes for improved function. Update March 16, 2020: - I've started testing and noticed that not all rotary encoders are the same; some have 20 positions per 360 degrees of travel and work great with this design. So I added an Encoder connector without teeth for those who don't want to use them. I removed the teeth altogether as they caused problems in testing, so stay tuned for further development. Disclaimer: The photos above were taken during the prototyping stage; the panel it's attached to is a cross-section of the bezel used for testing purposes only. This design has not undergone complete testing yet.
