G-Scale Troublesome Truck

Remixed from a 12-ton coal wagon, I scaled it up to suit the Bachmann Largescale Thomas the Tank Engine set we enjoy running around our Christmas tree every year. It's as large as I could fit onto my Malyan M150 printer. The dimensions are 190mm x 100mm x 45mm. Additionally, I fitted the hubs with 623ZZ bearings. The axles require 3mm, but I used 1/8 piano wire instead, drilled out the wheels, and ground down the ends slightly to fit the 3mm ID of the bearings. Each axle is approximately 77mm long. The hubs, buffer bars, and box are held together with #2 screws at a length of 3/8". The couplers are secured in place with #4 screws at a length of 1/2". The brakes were heat welded to the hub. Print the brakes, buffer bars, and small parts with 100% infill. Supports are only required for the brakes. Post-Printing: Grind down the 1/8 piano wire ends to fit the 3mm ID of the bearings.
