HEY STEVE'S TOYS: STOP SELLING MY WORK! I've printed almost all of Jabberwock's GI Joe models and have a nice display in my workroom. He says he modeled them at 100% toy size, but I print them at 25% for best results. This is fine, except I want full-size! I have a printer and might as well print them. This is my second full-size vehicle. FIRST THINGS FIRST This is a technical print that's hard to do even with experience. It's in the Upper Advanced, Lower Expert range of difficulty. You need to know your printer inside out, have it calibrated perfectly, and be able to adjust on the fly. The treads actually work like the HISS, but you really need to pay attention. CHASSIS The chassis prints in 4 parts because it's too big for my Ender3 print bed. There are two choices for CHASSIS TOP B: one with tools built into the chassis and one without. If you want the tools removable, use the version W/TOOLS. Supports are needed, but only touching the build plate. WHEELS The front wheels are slightly smaller than the rest. You'll need 10 large wheels and 2 front wheels. They're halved, so print 2 sides for each and glue them together. The axles are the same for all 12 wheels. Print 12 and make sure they fit snugly. You may have to shave the bottoms or clean up the holes on the chassis. TREADS/TRACK The tread and pegs file has one tread and 2 pegs in the STL. There's an additional Peg file for extra pegs. It takes 42 treads to make a full track (per side). This is the most challenging part, mainly because of the tiny pegs. The holes on the treads are sized to work without glue. ROCKET RACK The TREE, TOP, and ROCKETS need supports, but the other parts don't. The TOP fits over the TREE axis and snaps into place. If it's too tight, file the back edge until it fits snugly. Make sure the tree and holes aren't too tight or your rack will hang limply. OTHER PARTS TOOLS: I made these removable so they can be played with. Print the hammer with supports for the handle. TOW CABLE: No supports, but you might have to adjust its length in your slicer to fit snugly on the pins that hold it to the chassis. Updates: July 1, 2020 - Minor fixes to Chassis Top B. -- Adjusted details so they don't hit when turning the Turret. -- Made clips to hold Tools slightly tighter. - Added an additional Chassis Top B with Tools built in. July 3, 2020 - Added a second version of the turret base, Turret A (v2 w/POST), that is identical to the original but without clips. People reported clip breaking easily and asked for them to be removed.
