G.I. Joe Armadillo

G.I. Joe Armadillo

The GI Joe Armadillo, a compact tankette armed with four deadly "cluster cannons". I used an old toy and a pair of 6-inch calipers to create this precise 3D file from scratch. As usual, the file is modeled at the size of the actual toy but is optimized for printing at 25%. If you print it larger or smaller, it may end up with too much or too little detail. There are two versions of the treads: a shorter version that matches how the toy was originally designed and a longer "extended" version if you think the shorter treads make the tank look ridiculous. The chassis should be printed right side up with supports. Be cautious when cleaning around the roll bar as it is extremely delicate. The turret must be printed right side up with supports. The guns are stronger when printed horizontally and can be glued to the turret at the desired angle after printing. The track assembly requires printing upside down. A huge debt of respect and gratitude goes out to past and present members of our Armed Forces, who are the "Real American Heroes". Your sacrifices allow people like me to live in peace, freedom, and create quirky little toys such as these. This file is completely free for anyone to download.
