g gauge Hudson Rugga tipper wagon
grabcad
A nearly life-size model of a standard Hudson tipper wagon measures about 7/8 scale to the foot. The specifications for this model are as follows: it has a capacity of 27 cubic feet, 12-inch wheels in the pattern reference 5006 (cast steel with curved spokes), and axle boxes that are bolt-on, featuring rubber spring shocks and ball bearings. The wheelbase can be built either at 22 inches or 27 inches, as both sets of holes are included in the CAD model. This tipper wagon features double-side action tipping with locking levers, which allows for a range of configurations to meet customers' specific needs. In fact, these wagons were custom-built from standard parts according to customers' requirements, using either cast or pressed wheels, depending on the specific design preferences. In the UK, riveted construction was used, whereas overseas, bolted assemblies were preferred for on-site installation. Various buffer couplings could also be fitted, and when hauled by a locomotive without any load, the wagon's weight came in at roughly half a ton lighter than standard models. Additionally, lightweight manual wagons made from thinner gauge metal were also manufactured using the same standard stock as the heavier wagons. Hudson began manufacturing these tipper wagons around 1865. When printing this model, use a first-layer thickness of 0.2 mm and a nozzle temperature of 212 degrees Celsius, with a bed temperature of 60 degrees Celsius.
