45mm gauge locomotive, some machining of plastic parts necessary for assembly, axle made from 1/8 inch brass rod. Wheels and gear wheel are reamed after printing for tight push fit onto axle. Brass bearings are pushed into place after wheel assembly is located between frames, super glue used to stick plastic parts together and a very small amount of locite on wheels and gear wheel to axles. Bonnet brace glued inside bonnet to stiffen it up, holes made in motor and mounting for worm and worm wheel components. Middle axle is set 0.5mm higher with more end float than front and back axles, allowing locomotive to run on tighter bends without rocking on middle axle on uneven track. Two lots of axle box files are used, middle axle box being 0.05mm less in height to align with holes in subframe. 060 subframe is 10mm longer than 040 subframe and engine bonnet is also 14mm longer with two engine access doors for more room to fit radio control and 7.2 volt battery pack. Customized 45-32mm cab parts are already released, compatible with this locomotive release. Dash board cut from 1.5mm plastic card, cab roof can be made from same material. Seat printed to suit 3D printed sitting driver, files available for a 23mm high seat. Another similar locomotive, 040 32mm gauge, is yet to be published, and another locomotive is in early design stage.
