####G-Dissection of the Cube, Gyroid-Dissection A gyroid patch, eight of which make a gyroid cell (unit), can be housed in a cube for design and printing purposes. What if we use the gyroid patch to slice the cube into two pieces? Theoretically, we get two pieces that are mirror images of each other. However, to accommodate the gyroid patch and its thickness for 3D printing, I had to do a bit of manipulation (adding tolerance and smoothing out the cube faces). Consequently, the two cube pieces are not exactly the same when printed. Still, they are fun to play with, highlighting the gyroid surface. To Print, one can try 1. Part_2andG.STL and Part_1.STL for a three-piece model. 2. Two copies of Part_2.STL for a two-piece model, where the gyroid patch is in between the two pieces. 3. The gyroid patch alone needs support to print. ####References 1. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5401351 2. https://c3d.libretexts.org/CalcPlot3D/index.html 3. https://schoengeometry.com
