The Soviet G-5 stands out among WWII torpedo boats due to its unique design as a stern launcher. Two torpedoes are launched out of the back of the vessel, necessitating a sharp turn to avoid their path. Built from an aluminum alloy susceptible to corrosion in saltwater, potential issues arise from this material choice. Despite these limitations, the G-5 proves effective in its intended role and is remarkably fast, with later models reaching speeds of up to 56 knots.
