### BIG UPDATE ## VoCore support is here! This 4" screen is ideal for sim racing, with its touchscreen support, small form-factor and affordable price. https://vocore.io/screen.html #### A user has informed me that the newer VoCore screens use a longer ribbon cable with a connector, extending past the edge of the screen. I have attached a new holder model with an extra cutout for this connector. This is the FZero Dash! Powered by SimHub, it can be used with any sim racing game to display vital information. It's fully customizable, supporting any DashStudio dash and LED mapping. Designed to work with: - 4.3″ USBD480 Screen (Touch Screen optional) OR - 4" VoCore Screen - 2x 8 LED WS2812 Module - 2x 4 LED WS2812 Module This design uses 16 LEDs at the top (2x 8 LED modules) and 4 LEDs each side. The USBD480 or VoCore screen allows any dash made in Dashstudio to be displayed. Any dash you can download from RaceDepartment or the Discord server will work! LED Mappings will need to be created to utilize all 24 LEDs on this display. They could be used in a similar style to a Formula 1 McLaren dash, or maybe used for slip lights like a Porsche 911! The display has been designed to be versatile, so it can be used for various purposes. MoTeC style, F1 style, or any other digital dash. It has been carefully modelled to be the most compact unit possible. Everything is as close together as possible, while still retaining strength and rigidity in the model. There are several mounts available for use with the FZero Dash: - Fanatec mount, using the top mounting holes from the Static Shifter Add-on kit. - Fanatec extended mount (same as above, but with more holes for a higher mounting position) - SimuCube 2 (Sport) The model has a folder structure to simplify printing parts based on your choice of screen and LEDs. #### Big thanks to Wotever for the VoCore holder model, Paulus_NL for the SimuCube mount, and David Robertson (daverdfw) for the Adafruit Neopixel remix and extended mount! The general dimensions are included as photos. The front case is 7mm thick, the back case is 12mm thick, and the mounts are 5mm thick. If you wish to design your own mount, please use these dimensions as reference. For use, you will need to purchase: - 4.3″ USBD480 (Touch Screen optional) – http://www.lcdinfo.com/products/usbd480-wq43.html OR - 4" VoCore Screen – https://vocore.io/screen.html - 2x 8 LED WS2812 Module – https://www.adafruit.com/product/1426 - 2x 4 LED WS2812 Module – https://uk.banggood.com/0_7g-Super-Mini-WS2812B-RGB5050-4-Bit-Colorful-LED-Strip-for-Naze32-F3-F4-Flight-Controller-RC-Drone-p-1152572.html - Arduino Pro Micro – https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Leonardo-Pro-Micro-ATmega32U4-5V-16MHz-compatible-Replaces-ATmega328-Pro-Mini-UK/201310315804?hash=item2edf07a51c:g:gaEAAOSwZjJU7ysa The LED modules are wired in a daisy chain configuration, with the left 4 module's input connected to the arduino, then the output goes to the first 8 LED module, then to the second, and finally to the right 4 LED module. In SimHub, you declare that there are 24 LEDs. You can then use LED mappings to choose what each LED will display. Please see the wiring diagram picture for details. The USBD480 or VoCore screen and the Pro Micro both use USB connections, so the unit requires two available USB ports for complete functionality. A USB hub could be used to reduce this to a single port. The software used to power the dash can be downloaded here – https://www.simhubdash.com/download-2/
