FV4201 Chieftain British MBT

cults3d

This is a 1/64 scale model of the FV4201 Chieftain, which was the main battle tank of the United Kingdom from the 1960s through the 1980s. A development of the Centurion, the Chieftain introduced a revolutionary driver position to British design, featuring a reclining seat that allowed for a heavily sloped hull with reduced height. Equipped with a new powerpack and improved transmission, it achieved higher speeds than the Centurion despite being heavier due to major upgrades in armor protection and armament: this enabled it to effectively replace both the Conqueror and Centurion while performing their roles. It remained in service until replaced by the Challenger 1, which shared many of the Chieftain's features.
