USE ONLY UNDER DIRECTION OF A LICENSED VETERINARIAN. DESIGN IS UNTESTED AND INTENDED TO ALTER ESSENTIAL AIR FLOW TO AN ANIMAL, SUPERVISE THE ANIMAL AT ALL TIMES DURING USE AND USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I accelerated the release of this model due to COVID-19 and its impact on various animals, despite my initial plan to delay it until I could test more features and perfect the fit and finish. The equine snoot adapter may look unusual and comical, but it is actually pretty useful overall. It's a modernization of designs first produced during World War I, specifically for chemical warfare: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/231583605810966215/. This device covers the snout, with options to close in the front for better air quality control or leave it open to allow eating while wearing the device. Twin 1" NPT threads on either side can accommodate a range of attachments. These include: CPAP Nebulizer Air filter (pictured) Snorkel Gas Mask To build an air filter, you'll need this print and two 1" NPT couplers: https://www.mcmaster.com/4464k356. You'll also require a pair of small NPT filters: https://www.mcmaster.com/4401k15. Alternatively, if the air filters prove too restrictive, consider using a regular dust mask over the opening and securing it with a coupler for added breathability. Note that I haven't had time to build or test this yet. If the filters cause excessive resistance, disassemble them and replace the material with a thinner option. Seals will also be necessary around the top opening where the snout is inserted. For the open version, use fabric around the opening to cushion against any rubbing discomfort. This design is intended for smoke filtering during wildfire season, rather than providing an ideal air seal. Remember to supervise the animal at all times when using this device, as they may find it mildly irritating and attempt to remove it. Monitor their behavior closely for signs of distress and remove the unit immediately if breathing difficulties appear. The device can be attached to an existing halter or have its own straps.
