FuzNuz Epoxy+Silicone On Hoof Boot (Work in progress)
thingiverse
Update 10/27/19: Working on a complete overhaul to incorporate silicone in-soles and shift away from the glue-on concept towards a fully removable proper hoof boot. Conducted initial design testing and identified some structural issues with the square hoof tread pattern. Planning to switch patterns and invest significant time in redesigning for the field test update. Update 10/16/19: Successfully figured out how to shape the hoof boots for individual horses. Huge thanks to https://www.3dflow.net/3df-zephyr-pro-3d-models-from-photos/ for enabling the conversion of horse hoof videos into full 3D models and using a single maximum hoof width measurement to simplify the process. Original Post: Work in Progress file for the Hoof Boot project. This design is a departure from traditional glue-on horseshoes, focusing on matching the front angle of the hoof and attaching to a sturdy center spike for easy customization using software. Design is far from complete, but I needed to create a backup file. If you're interested in creating these boots, please comment first as there's an extensive process involved in custom sizing them, printing default ones will likely not fit. There's also a known glitch in the file causing incorrect prints; still working on resolving the issue.
