I'm excited to share my second project using an innovative aluminum compound material known as aludibond. This versatile material can be easily bent when carved from one side, similar to how a woodworker might use kerf cutting techniques. The sleek design was inspired by the need for extra storage in our pantry, where we stash a few apples and have limited space. Although it may seem excessive for a pantry, the functionality is precisely what I required. My build process took place on a desktop CNC machine courtesy of Stepcraft, utilizing 20mm walnut and 14mm birch plywood as the base materials. A spiral-toothed 3mm flute was used to achieve the desired depth of carve on the aludibond, striking a balance between maximum depth and retaining some black polyurethane for visual contrast. To accommodate varying material widths, the carving depth on the wooden feet can be adjusted accordingly. For more fascinating designs, I highly recommend visiting https://www.zenziwerken.de/en/.
