This model of Liverpool was born from the creative minds of the FACT Digital Ambassadors group, who drew inspiration from Future Aleppo showcased at FACT. By hand crafting and digitally capturing maps, models, and narratives, they embarked on an immersive exploration of Liverpool's psycho-geography. The team constructed paper models using a technique similar to Mohammed's, then photographed them, applying photogrammetry and 3D design software to breathe life into a virtual cityscape. About Future Aleppo: At the tender age of fifteen, Mohammed Kteish conceived and built a 3D model city in his garage, a testament to his ingenuity. As his family fled their war-torn home to escape the relentless gunfire and bombs of the Syrian civil war, Mohammed was forced to leave behind his beloved creation. This VR film brings Mohammed's vision to life, guiding viewers through the city's streets as they uncover stories hidden within the imaginative recreation of a young boy's heart-wrenching memories of his homeland.
