This version of Liverpool was crafted by members of the FACT Digital Ambassadors group, who drew inspiration from Future Aleppo displayed at FACT. The team delved into the psycho-geography of Liverpool by manually creating maps, models and stories, which they then digitally recorded. They constructed intricate paper models using a technique similar to that employed by Mohammed, captured photographs, utilized photogrammetry and 3D design software to reassemble them as a virtual cityscape. About Future Aleppo: Fifteen-year-old Mohammed Kteish designed and built a 3D model city in his garage, which he had to abandon when his family fled the city to escape the gunfire and bombs of the Syrian civil war. The VR film brings the model to life by guiding visitors through its streets with Mohammed, allowing them to uncover stories embedded within a young boy's imaginative recreation of his hometown.
